Last updated 2026. This policy applies to all visitors and members of the Kgolo Network platform.
1. Who we are
Kgolo Network ("Kgolo", "we", "us") operates an online directory, event calendar and marketplace for the mining and resource value chain across Africa and the Middle East, from a South African base. For the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) we are the responsible party for personal information processed through this platform. Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we act as the data controller.
2. Information we collect
Account information such as your name, business name, work email address, province and service categories.
Listing and event content that you choose to publish, including tender briefs, applications and recaps.
Payment information processed by our payment partner. We never store your card details on our systems.
Technical information such as device type, browser, approximate location and pages visited, collected to keep the service secure and working.
3. Why we process your information
To create and manage your membership, deliver the features of your tier and process payments.
To match listed businesses with event and tender opportunities and to send related notifications.
To improve, secure and support the platform, and to comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
Where required, we rely on your consent, the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests, or a legal obligation as the lawful basis for processing.
4. Sharing your information
Directory and event listings you publish are visible to other users according to your chosen visibility and membership tier. We share information with service providers that host our infrastructure, process payments and deliver email, all bound by confidentiality obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Cross-border transfers
Our providers may process information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient is subject to laws or binding agreements that provide an adequate level of protection, as required by section 72 of POPIA and Chapter V of the GDPR.
6. Retention and security
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it. We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, object to processing, withdraw consent, or request that we restrict or port your data. Contact us at info@samca.co.za. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) or your local supervisory authority.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember saved listings. Non-essential analytics, where used, are aggregated and do not identify you personally.
9. Third-party content and no liability
Mine, operator, funding and supplier information is compiled from public and member-supplied sources and may change without notice. Kgolo Network accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on that information or from links to third-party sites.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time and will publish the revised version on this page. Questions can be sent to info@samca.co.za.
